The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers fills the need for a universal industrial interchange of today's fast-moving developments in lubrication theory and practice. The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) is a technical association which was founded as the American Society of Lubrication Engineers (ASLE) in 1944 to advance the science and technology of lubrication (tribology). The name was changed to the present title in 1987.
