Appalachian Wireless
Info
Appalachian Wireless, headquartered in Ivel, Kentucky was among the initial wireless service providers nationwide that met the criteria to certify in a voluntary national consumer quality standards program. The consumer wireless standards program was established by the National Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) and was announced at a press conference on Tuesday, September 9th, in Washington D.C. The program is designed to help consumers make informed choices and require wireless providers to offer services consumers need. "Over the last few years, we have worked hard at establishing high quality standards for our organization that focus on the needs of our customers. Receiving the CTIA certification verifies that we want consumers to be totally satisfied with the service we provide for the area," according to Laura Phipps, General Manager of Appalachian Wireless. Because of this strong commitment to our customers and voluntary compliance with these standards, we are now authorized to utilize the CTIA "Wireless Quality Service Seal" made available to those meeting the stringent criteria established by the CTIA. Only wireless providers that voluntarily participate in the Consumer Code program will be authorized to use the seal. Certification in the CTIA program reflects that the company has met basic criteria of the Consumer Code, which includes: Providing consumers with information to help them make informed choices in selecting wireless service; Helping ensure that consumers understand their wireless service and rate plans; and a continual offering of wireless services that meet consumers' needs. Wireless service providers must certify in the process on an annual basis with the review being conducted by the CTIA's legal department.
