Info

Chart Noise Inc. is a consortium of consultants whose mission is to develop, promote and market artists and their music. Additionally, we can help independant labels develop a higher level of organization to further their development by targeting and executing their needs in sales, marketing & promotion and some accounting functions. The company was formed in the winter of 2001 when President and CEO Robert Morrison, a 20 year industry vet, began to see a need for an alternative to the traditional industry models, a need to remove the guess work from the independant sector, and to find opportunities for new and creative artists to develop their careers. Every band and label is unique in it's own way and Chart Noise will help execute your immediate and longterm goals. Chart Noise offers a strategic group of consultants, advisors, and friends with years of background focused on answering those needs created by a shrinking industry. Take a look at our "Advisors" and "Friends" pages for a more detailed look into the years of expeirence and skills Chart Noise offers. Here's who's on stage for us: Robert Morrison - President and CEO Robert Morrison has been active in the music industry for over 17 years. From 1997 to 2001, Robert was the Vice President of Sales & Operations at J-Bird Records. He managed a catalog of over 300 artists, an active retail catalog of 50 artists, and oversaw the daily operations of the company. It was at J-Bird where Robert was a key factor in the success of Rockapella, establishing a growing national presence in the traditional retail music marketplace for the group. Additionally, he was instrumental in signing several key artists to the roster, among them The Rembrandts, Boy George's More Protein label, John Entwistle (of The WHO), Lee Rocker (of Stray Cats), and Hall of Fame jazz guitarist Jimmy Stewart. From 1994 to 1997, Robert was with Connecticut-based Alliance Entertainment's CD One-Stop as Director of Purchasing, overseeing that department and its buyers. Previously, he was with Wherehouse Entertainment, beginning his career there in 1986. The roles he served in included store manager, corporate order desk manager, and music buyer. After leaving J-Bird Records in December of 2001, Mr. Morrison was quickly contacted by several artists and artist managers. These calls resulted in the formation of Chart Noise Inc. in February of 2002.
