EED has been involved in the ongoing development of Orlando International Airport (OIA) and Orlando Executive Airport (OEA) since 1987. During the past 18+ years EED has provided a major role in the planning and permitting of the East Terminal Complex, Fourth Runway, North Crossfield Taxiway and the South Terminal Complex at OIA. This includes the lead role in preparation and processing the Environmental Resource Permit (ERP) through South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), Section 404 Dredge and Fill permits through the Army Corp of Engineers (COE) as well as major roles in the preparation and processing of an ADA/DRI and Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Fourth Runway and South Terminal Complex. In addition EED has been or is currently involved in the final design, permitting, bidding and construction of the Fourth Runway, East Terminal Complex Drainage System, North Crossfield Taxiway, Cargo Road Expansion, Heintzleman Blvd., the South Terminal Complex and the widening of taxiways to accommodate the new Group 6 (A-380) Aircraft. EED is currently under contract with the Authority as a Continuing Civil Engineer. This assignment allows EED to stay involved with development and maintenance of the two airports on a continued basis.
