DeConna Ice Cream was started by our founder, "Big Daddy" Don DeConna in Miami in 1947. Mr. DeConna expanded his small vending operation into manufacturing and distribution and, in 1963, moved the business to Gainesville. Today, our family owned company distributes a "World of Flavors" from our modern freezer/warehouse complex on 33 acres in Orange Lake, between Gainesville and Ocala, Florida. Our facility is conveniently located 1 mile east of I-75 on Highway 318. DeConna also has distribution facilities in Tampa and Palm Bay, Florida.
