Freedom Home Loans, Inc. was founded in November of 2001. The founder, Matt Law, chose the name after the September 11th tragedy that shocked the world. Matt started his background in originating loans for AGF Mortgage Corporation in late 1999. After becoming their top producer in 2001, he left to start his own corporation. Beginning with one part time processor, Freedom rented a 600 square foot building in the industrial park of DeLand near the DeLand Airport. Matt purchased two computers and a fax machine on eBay.com and purchased desks out of the local Pennysaver. Building a business from scratch was difficult, so Freedom focused on working with Realtors and keeping strong communication with past customers. By doing so, Freedom Home Loans, Inc. was able to establish nearly 100% referral based business. In March of 2002, the office moved to a new location in Orange City, FL, a more central location for the West Volusia County. Deltona, DeBary, DeLand, Lake Helen, and Deleon Springs are well within the ten minute drive to Orange City. In April of 2002, Freedom Home Loans, Inc. partnered with "By Referral Only", a real estate and mortgage coaching team that helps originators maintain their business work through referrals alone. Part of the strategy for building a referral based business is making your company more referable. In June of 2002, our company added our "World Class Consultation" package. Our clients are greeted with warm chocolate chip cookies on one of our two consultation rooms. Our clients are then shown a quick flash multimedia presentation which is projected onto the five foot computer screen directly in front of them. The application is taken on the projected screen right in front of the borrower in our loan origination software. After the consultation, the borrower receives more informaiton about our company and materials to make the entire process easier. In October of 2003, Freedom Home Loans went through a series of changes including major technology changes, customer service changes, and systemization. Although this sounds a bit boring, it revolutionized our company and gave us the ability to pre-approve loans in minutes and not days. It also brought us into the next generation of loan consultants and drastically reduced our turn-around times. In May of 2005, we proceeded to build what our staff calls the "submit and forget" processing system. It allows seamless processing and communication with our loan officers and processors. This system has cut the average processing time to less that 2 weeks for our loans. In January of 2006, we released a revolutionary technology that has changed our business forever. The Freedom Home Loans online status system emails Realtors, borrowers, and our loan officers the status of the loan as it is processed. This allows all parties to stay on the same page for the duration of the loan. The system also allows users to log on to the system and see there loan as well. The remaining of 2006, our goal is to complete our relocation process and move our company to a new building. We also plan on adding new loan programs and hiring additional staff memebers. Although the last few years has been a tough journey with many uphill battles, Freedom Home Loans, Inc. continues to grow each year through the support of our local Realtors, past clients, and friends. We are involved in the sponsoring of many community events, including many area church youth functions, Stetson University Baseball, and the local board of Realtors. Our company is dedicated to serving our clients with a reputable name. We are not satisfied with just meeting our clients needs for lending. Our goal is to exceed there expectations, and allow them to become our advocates.
