Van's Refrigeration was founded in 1981 by Joe VanKauwenberg and his wife Kris. Joe started by placing an ad in local newspapers and did mostly refrigeration work out of his home. He began his business by repairing bulk tanks for farmers, coolers and freezers for local merchants and even an occasional household refrigerator. Times were tight, so in an effort to lower his monthly heating bills Joe learned about Geothermal Heat Pumps. Thanks to his refrigeration knowledge he was able to install his first heat pump in his own home. Joe's next step was to start selling and installing E-Tech and Tetco heat pumps. E-Tech heat pumps are designed to replace dehumidifiers and help heat domestic hot water heaters. Tetco heat pumps are designed for whole house heating and cooling applications. Since then his business has grown. Van's Refrigeration now services all types of refrigeration and installs many different brands of heat pump including Water Furnace, Climate Master and Trane. Through schooling and experience Van's Refrigeration is continuing to keep up with all the advances in this ever changing industry. Some advances include closed loop applications, in floor warming and commercial projects. Over the years Van's Refrigeration has earned the respect of many of its customers by providing reliable equipment and fast, friendly service.
