All across America, Clean Country provides its clients excellent building maintenance services. Headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, the Company serves more than 190 accounts spanning a 35 state area, coast to coast. Jim Evans, Clean Country's President, started his business in the rural city of Willmar, Minnesota. He named the company Custom Cleaning Services, later changing it to Clean-1 Services. In 1989, Jim incorporated Clean Country as a Minnesota corporation. In the early days, Jim wore all the hats, and learned the cleaning business from the ground up. This has given him a complete understanding of every aspect of the business, from sanitizing restrooms, vacuuming and removing trash, to running human service programs for employees, pleasing customers and providing high quality cleaning services to clients. Two years after starting the business, Jim found a niche market by providing for the cleaning needs of small- to medium-sized government offices. Soon he had accounts in four states managed from his office in Willmar. Here he learned to comply with complex government regulations while developing techniques to recruit high quality service personnel, manageable from a distance. Jim took the complex and created a management formula that worked. Jim has earned a reputation as an industry innovator, constantly searching for new, better and more environmentally-friendly ways to do business. As well, he regularly explores ways to expand his business to fill the needs of a more diversified market, thereby insulating the Company against trends that could reduce its main sources of income. Today, Clean Country successfully cleans a variety of government offices including U.S. Armed Forces Recruiting, USDA, U.S. Postal and Child Enforcement/Family Services offices. Clean Country has, as a practice, specifically limited its contracts to small to medium size offices. The Company has intentionally avoided bidding on large commercial and industrial complexes, the kind of contracts beset by competitive pressures and human resource nightmares. Instead, by focusing on smaller offices, it has been able to find and establish long-term relationships that ensure business stability. From its offices in Omaha, operating with a small staff, the Company provides management support to its contracts across the continental United States. It is ready to bring that same management philosophy to an expanded market and new businesses.
