Students are transported to USDB by their local school districts. Day students travel to and from school to their homes every school day. Residential students travel to their homes on Friday afternoon and return to school on Sunday afternoon. USDB follows a traditional 180 school day calendar for all students. The educational program is similar in structure and sequence to that provided by public schools. Programming follows the Utah Standards and Benchmarks and is specifically geared to meet the individual needs of the student and fulfill the goals and objectives of the IEP. Programming and services provided also include Audiology Services, USDB Health Department Nursing Services, Low Vision Department, Family Support Services, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Psychology & Social Services, parent Infant Programs, Sign language & Interpreting Services, Deafblind Services, Complete Residential Programs. USDB also offers an Educational Resource Center offering Braille Production, Library Media Department, Instructional Technology, Testing & Assessment, and Curriculum and Expanded Core Curriculum & Research Department. After school extra-curricular activities include basketball, volleyball, swimming and dances. Residential students participate in activities such as fishing, nature walks, field trips, crafts, cooking, Red Ribbon Week, and holiday carnivals.
