So many people have asked about the beginning of Abundant Funds Ministries and I am thrilled to share this with you. In the late 1960s, God called my father, Dr. William Roberts, Jr. to expand the ministry of Pompano Baptist Temple to start a Christian school. The church he founded, in Pompano Beach, FL was modestly placed in a 22-acre cow pasture off of Dixie Highway and seemed an ideal setting for such a school. In 1965, Highlands Christian Academy started with 15 students in one class. The school grew at such a rapid pace academically, athletically, structurally and most important, spiritually, that the ministry endured numerous satanic attacks. God has gifted my father with vision, organization, and leadership skills. He has always believed in using our skills and talents that God has provided us. He led the students in an educational exercise of the simple business model of fundraising. The first product was boxed Christmas cards with Bible verses. Soon candles were added, then mugs and a variety of items. Fellow churches and schools began to recognize the notable success of the fundraisers. Schools such as Hollywood Christian School, Dade Christian School, Gold Coast Christian and more began to ask for Dad's help. Hence, he was encouraged to aid many Christian schools and to start the ministry of Abundant Funds in 1973. Ultimately, God moved him into the full-time work of Abundant Funds. Now over 600 schools, in 26 states, benefit from my father's God given talents. He is now retired and is thrilled to see both the Abundant Funds ministry and Highlands Christian Academy thriving still today.
