Info

RAPAC, headquartered in Oakland, Tennessee has 18 years of experience in the direct injection process for gasing polystyrene.RAPAC management recognized the polystyrene loose fill market was in need of lighter weight materials to meet the requirements of the fast developing mail order catalog market. In 1987,RAPAC introduced their light weight loose fill bead, saving the customer almost 20% in material cost. In 1989, environmental issues threatened the loose-fill market. Adopting the company philosophy that:We Provide Creative Packaging SolutionsFor Our Changing Environment, RAPAC quickly developed a loose-fill product which contained 30% recycled content with photodegradable properties. This loose-fill was the only product of its kind on the market. Large users of loose-fill appreciated the marketing help this program gave them in responding to the critics of polystyrene. To further expand it's role in recycling, RAPAC opened Cycle 6, Inc. in Stone Mountain, Georgia in 1992 as a polystyrene recycling center. Later, in 1998, when techniques to densify foam scrap where improved, it was no longer necessary to have a remote location for densifying foam and this operation was moved to the manufacturing plant in Oakland. In late 1992, further utilizing the technology of recycled materials, RAPAC began supplying a 100% recycled loose-fill product. Today, RAPAC is the largest manufacturer of 100% recycled loose-fill in the United States. RAPAC, along with their partner, STOROpack Hans Reichenecker GmbH+Co., own and operate Winpac, SARL in Pavilly, France. This plant manufactures recycled polystyrene loose-fill for the European market. The management of RAPAC is committed to the polystyrene packaging industry and in finding new market applications. CurrentlyRAPAC is developing an all new capability in the direct injection process. The flexibility of this propriety process will allow RAPAC to serve new markets inaccessible to the major polystyrene producers. Additives to provide protection and blends to enhance the product are just a few of the features RAPAC will be offering to provide solutions to your packaging needs.
