iMusicast is a private company headquartered in Oakland, CA. It began with a vision of a delivering a unique live interactive concert experience to the web. With ongoing advances in streaming media technology and the rapid adoption of broadband, live webcasting of music events is poised for explosive growth. It gives artists instantaneous global reach, and audiences access to music formerly underserved by traditional music distribution channels. Bryan Matheson, founder and CEO of iMusicast, established the company in August 1999. since 1987, He has been producing and engineering music for well-known Bay Area artists, from his recording studio, Skyline Studios, in the same building as iMusicast. He has won numerous awards for his film TV, and radio work, As a vocalist, Mr. Matheson has a long list of radio and TV credits, as well as a 2006 Grammy nomination for his work with The Pacific Mozart Ensemble on the Leonard Bernstein Mass, performed and recorded with Kent Nagano at The Berlin Philharmonic. In November 2005, The Pacific Mozart Ensemble performed at Carnegie Hall with renowned New York composer Meredith Monk. By creating a unique hybrid of a webcast studio, recording studio, video sound stage and concert venue, iMusicast was able to bring DVD and streaming media production services within reach of the independent record labels and artists. After six years of concerts, iMusicast became the epicenter of a vital East Bay music scene, enjoying enormous support and goodwill from fans, parents, local bands and national touring acts. iMusicast closed a year after its lease ended in October 2006, and is currently looking for a new home.
