Fern Tiger Associates was established in 1978 in Oakland, California. What began more than two decades ago as an effort to document the unique and important role of neighborhood and community groups working to revitalize cities and towns, and to spur the bureaucracies of government and private enterprise, has grown to include helping those bureaucracies understand the role they can play in their communities. For 25 years, Fern Tiger Associates (FTA) has focused on the human aspects of problems and solutions; on the impact of public policies on communities and mission-driven organizations; and on the means by which one community’s or organization’s success can be incorporated into programs in other communities and at other organizations.
