Founded by Merritt (Red) Mayhood more than 40 years ago, Mayhood's Sporting Goods is now owned and operated by Mike and Barb Mayhood.. At first, the store had few items, and sold only worms as live bait. Today, we carry a huge array of items, and the live bait line includes minnows, crayfish, and even a bait vending machine conveniently located in front of the store for those 'early risers'. Mayhood's also sells long guns, hand guns, archery equipment of all descriptions (including custom made arrows), clothing, paintball accessories, boats, fishing gear, and footwear. We stock the largest inventory of hunting accessories in central New York, and over 100 different rods and reels for the fishing enthusiast. If there's an item you need, chances are it's in stock.
