South Mountain Photos is a photography studio located in the Adirondack mountains of Upstate New York. We specialize in wildlife, flora, fauna, breathtaking landscapes and scenic waterways photography. Many of the photographs displayed are local to the Adirondack Mountains. However, many of the photographs represent other regions such as the Virginia coastline or the Chesapeake Bay area. Whether it's an Adirondack Mountain vision or a coastal seascape, you will find the quality of a South Mountain Photo unbeatable. Autumn in the Adirondacks offers up some breathtaking images of fall foliage. The mountains are awash in blazing colors starting in mid September until the end of October. The Upstate New York fall season enters in slowly with the rich reds of sugar maples, the yellows of beeches and the conifer's "evergreen" covering the mountains and valleys with a patchwork quilt that defies description. This area of New York was blessed with a great variety of broad-leaved trees, which help give the region's foliage a spectacular color range and makes for beautiful Adirondack foliage pictures. Winter covers the landscape with thick billows of pristine snow as if the clouds themselves have frozen and come to earth. Glimmering ice sheets and twigs shine like diamonds in the sun. It is a time of stark white on white with the promise of renewed life to again come forth at "Ice-out" with the first crocus breaking through the cold ground.
