Description of Chrisman Mill
Chrisman Mill is a family owned and operated Vineyard that was establish in 1997 by Dr. Chris Nelson and his wife Denise. Dr. Nelson from Galveston, Texas, and his wife Denise from Albuquerque, New Mexico met on a blind date set up by mutual friend in Huston, Texas. The couple dated and were married in 1992. In 1996 Dr. Nelson and Denise moved to Nicholasville, KY, for a job opportunity at the University of Kentucky. While in college, Dr. Nelson realized he had a passion for wine and started experimenting with the wine making process. In Kentucky, the law states that 100 gallons of wine can be made within a home per adult. When the couple moved to Nicholasville, they decided to max out the limit and produce 200 gallons. Their passion soon turned into 200 gallons of wonderful wine....... which is a lot of wine. Realizing that there was no way that they would ever be able to drink that much wine, Dr. Nelson asked "What are we ever going to do with all this wine?" For those of you who know Denise, I am sure you can figure out what she said for she has some wild ideas! Her reply was "Lets sell it!" Ten years have now passed and we are honored to own and manage the fine establishment of Chrisman Mill Vineyards and Winery. The passion which started our journey has continued, and we want to share with you the quality and excellence our dream has brought to the wonderful wine we produce.
