The Rashi School
Info
At Rashi, we are committed to making our school available to a diverse community of parents and children. Admission decisions, therefore, are need blind. The school offers a need-based tuition assistance program in order to provide families showing demonstrated need the means to be able to afford a Rashi education. Tuition assistance funds come from families paying full tuition, from funds raised by the Office of Institutional Advancement, and from individual gifts designated specifically for tuition assistance. To assist in making objective decisions about tuition assistance, Rashi uses the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS). Families fill out a Parents Financial Statement (PFS) form and must provide Rashi with a copy of the prior year's federal tax return including all schedules and W2 forms. Depending on family or business circumstances, additional forms may be required. Decisions are made by the school's Tuition Assistance Committee, which consists of individuals who are not currently parents in the school. The committee recognizes that the PFS form may not accurately portray the whole picture of a family's financial situation and it welcomes a letter that may clarify family finances. Tuition assistance is awarded on an annual basis. In keeping with Rashi's core values, all information received and discussed by the committee is kept strictly confidential.
