The Continuum International Publishing Group was founded in October 1999 by the merger of the academic and religious lists of Cassell in London with The Continuum Publishing Company of New York. Continuum acquisitions include the theology list of A&C Black, T&T Clark in Edinburgh, Burns & Oates, the higher education list of Letts, The Athlone Press, Sheffield Academic Press, Sheed & Ward and The Handsel Press. Continuum is recognised for its high quality publishing programs in religion and the humanities through scholarly monographs, educational texts, reference works and journals.
