NYC Medics is an independent emergency medical response organization that responds to disasters internationally when local resources are overwhelmed or destroyed. NYC Medics was started in October, 2005 when a group of medical professionals from New York City chose to join the relief effort in response to the South Asian Earthquake which claimed tens of thousands of lives. In less than a year, NYC Medics has deployed to Pakistan twice, bringing volunteers from all over the world together to bring medicine where needed the most.
