We work closely with management before, during and after an acquisition to design a continuous improvement program, to implement the program and to provide management with the tools to implement their business strategy. We are equally comfortable working with incumbent management, bringing in a new management team or supplementing existing managers with experienced industry executives on a temporary or permanent basis. We seek to align the interests of management and our investors through performance-driven bonus programs, equity incentive plans, and co-invest programs. Monomoy has also enjoyed a long history of working constructively with trade unions and employees. Many of our acquisitions are in heavily-unionized industries, and we often negotiate new collective bargaining agreements in connection with our investments. We have worked closely and successfully with dozens of labor representatives, including the International Association of Machinists, the United Steelworkers Union, and the United Automobile Workers. We are also committed to the principal that every employee in a Monomoy portfolio company should share in the success of the business. We establish profit sharing, gain sharing and other incentive programs in our companies to provide all employees with meaningful financial rewards for achieving our business goals.
