Since joining Maloney & Fox in February 2003, Lydia has managed programs ranging from increasing membership of the American Physical Therapy Association, and subscribers to Optimum Online, the broadband Internet service offered by Cablevision; spreading the word among trade and consumer press about Applegate Farms' Organic Lunchbox and Ile de France's specialty Brie and goat cheese; and transforming the Metropolitan Pavilion into a Winter Wonderland on behalf of the Toy Industry Association (TIA). Prior to joining M&F, Lydia worked as a consultant for such clients as The National Book Foundation, Harper's Magazine, The New School, the Van Brunt Gallery, the Kiriyama Book Prize and Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Before testing the waters of independent consulting, Lydia served as Vice-President of Ellen Ryder Communications, a SoHo-based communications firm specializing in book and magazine publishing, as well as cultural and educational organizations. Among the highlights of her tenure at Ryder Communications were planning and implementing the year-long campaign marking the 150th anniversary of Harper's Magazine, and the 50th anniversary of the National Book Awards, hosted by Steve Martin and honoring Gold Medal recipient Oprah Winfrey. Lydia's experience also includes serving as Director of Public Relations, Marketing and Advertising for MDO Development Corporation, the New York-based restaurant group that owns, among others, The River Café and The Water Club. During her seven years at David S. Wachsman Associates, her clients included Absolut Vodka; Godiva Liqueur; Manhattan East Suite Hotels; SportsChannel Regional Network; Dean Witter, Discover & Co.; and Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, the prominent Wall Street law firm, for whom she spearheaded a year-long marketing and public relations campaign honoring the firm's bicentennial. Lydia's publicity experience also includes working as a publicist for the New York Public Library and for New American Library, the publisher now part of Viking Penguin. A graduate of Boston College, she lives in Westchester County, New York with her husband and two sons.
