Info

IvyWiseTM is committed to helping students identify and gain admission to their ideal schools. During one-on-one sessions, our counselors put their first-hand experience in school admissions to work. Our goal is for our students to present their backgrounds and aspirations in the best way possible and make sure their true character shines through. In the case of college admissions, most high school students have a college/guidance counselor at school. So, why look outside for private assistance? We complement your local counselor's efforts by working one-on-one with your child, customizing a strategic plan of action, which will help your child get into the best college of his or her choice and meet his or her academic and personal needs. Careful planning is crucial and we are available not only during school hours, but also after school, evenings and weekends in person as well as by phone, fax and email. Additionally, we help students keep organized, stay motivated and hit deadlines throughout the application process. Overworked high school counselors simply have too many students to give the individual attention needed in the most competitive admission environment ever. How can one counselor read re-write after re-write of one admission essay and keep tabs on every student's progress when there are over 50 seniors in the class, let alone 100 or 500? Our IvyWise Kids division usually serves as the only source of guidance for parents navigating the murky waters of pre-school, K-12 and boarding school admissions. Ivywise also offers assistance to students applying to law schools, medical schools and other graduate programs. Although these students usually need less hand-holding than college applicants, more complicated applications at the graduate level necessitate a larger number of hours per application. Since an applicant has more life history to present than when applying to college, completing multiple applications to competitive programs can be challenging, especially when the applicant has a full-time job in a time-demanding industry like finance. In all divisions, our counselors are the most outstanding in the field. They have contacts at the schools, attended the most prestigious colleges, universities and graduate schools, read applications recently for the office of admissions at a highly selective college, held a college guidance counselor position at a high school with a superior placement track record and received certification in college counseling. In addition, they keep abreast of current issues in college admission by attending national and regional conferences, and regularly touring schools at all levels and colleges/universities. Finally, all IvyWise counselors adhere to National Association for College Admissions Counseling Statement of Principles of Good Practice and the Independent Educational Consultants Association Principles of Good Practice.
