In 1988, the Guidance Corporation was established in the heart of New York City's Financial District as a temporary and permanent staffing firm specializing in the placement of accountants and bookkeepers. However, when the management team saw the growing demands of the temporary market, Guidance Corporation was expanded in 1989 to include all levels of administrative and brokerage placement. This expansion of services helped strengthen the company's position in a volatile economy and laid the groundwork for the Guidance Corporation's reputation as one of the most prestigious staffing services in the city. Between 1989 and 1993, the Guidance Corporation worked to bolster its growing prominence in the market. During these years, Guidance was determined to set itself apart from the myriad of temporary services and permanent placement agencies in the New York City area. Competition was fierce, particularly during the lean years of the recession. However, management's policy of stressing quality of service over price helped build a strong base of customer and applicant loyalty that remains unequaled in the industry to this day. Clients have come to expect a high degree of professionalism and customer service that only years of experience and training can engender. Applicants have commented time and again on how much they appreciate Guidance's accommodating service. By early 1993, believing the Guidance Corporation had a successful formula to offer in the temporary services market, management agreed to begin an aggressive expansion campaign. After extensive research into growing cities and interview sessions with seasoned professionals in those areas, the Guidance Corporation opened five branch offices between 1994 and 1995. Branches were opened in Phoenix, Arizona, Lake Oswego, Oregon, and Federal Way, Washington. The national expansion has proven fortuitous in many ways. Not only have the branches become successful, but they also laid the groundwork for introducing Guidance Medical Personnel into these markets. The Guidance Corporation's expansion coincided with the establishment of Guidance Medical Personnel in 1994. Guidance Medical Personnel was opened in response to several inquiries from clients and applicants as to the viability of placing medical professionals as successfully as Guidance Staffing was able to place office professionals. There was a serious lack of professional medical personnel services in the Metropolitan Area. Most agencies concentrated on placement of home health aides and were not equipped to place extensively schooled and licensed lab technicians, radiologists, physician assistants, pharmacists, surgical technologists, and registered nurses. Shortly after opening, Guidance Medical Personnel proved to be a success. Guidance Medical Personnel was able to secure contracts with several major medical facilities in the New York Metropolitan Area. Currently, Guidance Medical Personnel branches offer premier medical staffing services at all of our national locations. In 1998, Guidance Corporation opened Guidance International, a new division dedicated to executive search and recruitment. With a presence in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City, and Seattle, Guidance International specializes in providing top-notch talent for professional level positions in various industries such as fashion and finance. In the very first years of the new millenium, the Guidance Corporation is continuing its expansion in new services and new markets. After extensive research into growing cities and expanding job markets, Guidance International is just about to launch its first European division, set to open in 2001. In addition, the success in the executive area has enabled Guidance Corporation to expand its expertise into the service of outplacement and executive consulting. These services are offered under the name of Guidance Global Resources. In the years ahead, the Guidance Corporation plans to excel and achieve its aspirations of being the most recognized specialty staffing organization in the world.
