About Covenant House Michigan Covenant House Michigan has helped more than 23,000 homeless and at-risk young people since its founding in 1997. In addition to food, shelter and clothing, Covenant House provides preparation for the GED exam, remedial education classes, job placement services and crisis intervention to its residents and other young people seeking help. Last year, CHM had 1,504 school dropouts in its educational program. The agency operates an outreach van that drives through Detroit-area neighborhoods and offers on the spot assistance to homeless and other needy youth.
