Info
Columbus Nova is dedicated to developing a global business in renewable energy with a particular focus on biofuels. The team is headed up by David M. Diwik who has over 17 years of experience in financing and strategically developing fast growing emerging industries. Given our commitment to renewable energy, Columbus Nova, along with our partners, have invested over $170 million of equity in White Energy (www.white-energy.com). White Energy (the "Company") is based in Dallas, Texas and was formed in 2006 for the purpose of acquiring and developing renewable energy projects. In May of 2006, the Company completed the acquisition of its 45 mmgpy ethanol plant in Russell, KS and began the construction of its 100 mmgpy Fagan designed ethanol plant in Hereford, TX. The Hereford plant is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2007. Additionally, in 2006 the Company acquired Plainview BioEnergy, LLC from Scoular. Plainview Bioenergy is the subsidiary of Scoular that has contracted with Fagan, utilizing ICM technology, for the design and construction of the 100 mmgpy facility in Plainview, TX. The Plainview facility is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2008. Columbus Nova is looking to build and expand upon our White Energy investment and have been actively looking at renewable energy opportunities in Europe. What we believe differentiates Columbus Nova from many of the more traditional private equity and venture capital investors is that we don't have an imbedded fund structure which requires us to provide liquidity in the short to medium term. Rather, our investment philosophy is predicated on building businesses which create value over the long term.
