Black Hammer was founded by Matthew Schlanger in 1995, following work on "Gahan Wilson's The Ultimate Haunted House" CD-ROM, developed for Microsoft; and the "Ocean Voyager" CD-ROM, developed for Times Mirror and the Smithsonian Institute. Matthew's diverse knowledge of the new media scene, including kiosks, CD-ROMs, multimedia authoring, and video production, would form the foundation of Black Hammer Productions. By 1996, Black Hammer's client list had grown to include Scholastic, Thomas Publishing and the Showtime Network, with many more projects underway. From their offices in New York's Silicon Alley, Black Hammer continued to expand its service capabilities to meet the needs of a growing number of Fortune 100 companies, and to develop a reputation for quality that led to long term relationships with many of their clients. Now located in 5,000 sqft at 447 Broadway, Black Hammer continues to offer its clients an extraordinarily high level of service and reliability by maintaining extensive in-house capabilities and remaining current in the ever-changing world of new media.
