Berenson LLP is one of the crown jewels of the New York accounting community. When a tradition endures, so does its spirit , in bountiful new ways. Without spirit, tradition is only history. Our history began in 1921 when Moses and Joseph Berenson founded the firm, in addition to their accounting practice, for over thirty years, they were two of the most highly regarded professors at New York's "City College." The demands of both environments required total familiarity with new and developing accounting standards, procedures, and regulations. Their devotion to the profession of accounting established standards for quality, integrity and service that are honored and upheld today. These high standards were passed on to the next generation, as their sons Richard, Robert and non-family partners carried on the traditions. Throughout our history we always have asked the same question, "What kind of service would we demand if we were the client?" That is still the most important criterion by which we measure our own professional performance.
