Adlabs' animation division was formed in April 2006 with an objective to develop and produce original animation content. Our immediate focus is to develop projects for an Indian audience, but with long-lasting characters that have the potential to travel beyond India, while simultaneously exploring opportunities in the international animation space as well. We have a 360 degree approach to all our projects and the idea is to create brands that can be exploited across various mediums catering to our target audience. Apart from traditional film and television distribution, we will focus on merchandising, gaming, publishing, Internet and education in order to connect with our audiences. Our first animation project is the 3D feature film Sultan the Warrior, starring South India's most popular star Rajnikanth. The film is a co-production with Ocher Studios headed by his daughter Soundarya Rajnikanth, and is currently in development.
