Gopher State Railway Museum (GSRM) is not open at this time. We are a nonprofit organization with a focus on preserving railroad history by building a railroad museum park. All plans for the park have been finalized. The museum will be built in stages as money and volunteers become available. The plans include a station, car maintenance building, beanery, and multiple railroad related structures. GSRM owns a 20 acre plot of land 2 miles north of New Prague, Minnesota on State Highway 21. Currently we have a 20 x 40 M&StL maintenance of way tool building sitting on the land. This will be our first display building for use in phase one of our construction. A large maintenance building is also planned in a future phase of construction so our members can restore equipment. We are actively seeking new members by doing local festivals and parades. Our organization is also looking for future displays of railroad related items, things like signals, lanterns, switch locks, something your relative had that you would like to have saved for the next generation and other display items are very important to us.
