Abbey Road Associates is a boutique consulting firm. We are business consultants who are specialized in price strategy. The core of this firm is the senior members, who have all been consulting for over fifteen years or more. We share several common beliefs, and a common background. All the senior members of the firm have held senior positions in industry, and senior positions at the firm of Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Inc. Booz, Allen is the oldest and one of the largest strategy firms, with a rich tradition in fact-based analytics in general, and pricing in particular. Our shared beliefs on consulting are:Our assignments should create value for our clients well in excess of our fees. We believe that typically we create more than twenty times the value of our fees. Our service is business advice, principally related to pricing questions. We will execute, or help implement, the critical first steps to improvement, e.g.: assist in a key negotiation, or develop a PC-Based software tool such as a price engine. We are flexible, and so are willing to substitute our judgment and experience for certain kinds of (expensive and slow) market study, but only in explicit agreement with the client. Our client is the individual manager designated by the contract. On our side, there will be an explicit Officer in Charge on any assignment with Abbey Road Associates. We do not do work on the same pricing topic for direct competitors (competitiveness being measured at the business unit level), within a year of the previous assignment, without permission from the previous client. We tell you before we begin billing, and will explain our fee schedule and estimate of time required in writing to potential clients before an assignment begins. Our Principals are always available to discuss price issues with existing or potential clients, or offer advice on how to execute recommendations. There will never be any charge for such consultations. Regarding value and price: Abbey Road Associates bills on a time-and-materials basis for our work. Our billing rates depend on the kind of work, the scope of the assignment, the location of the work, and which individuals are involved. Our billing rates vary from $250 per billable hour to $600 per billable hour. Assignments over 180 billable hours are offered with significant discounts.
