Tradewind Aviation International is a flight school with a long tradition, operated under new management since early 2000. The school is located in New Bern, eastern North Carolina. New Bern airport is served by US Airways Express (Piedmont Airlines) with multiple daily departures to Charlotte. Charlotte is the biggest city in North Carolina and a major airline hub, perfect for international airline connections. New Bern airport has two runways and a control tower (Class D airspace). This is a great learning environment where the students get used to operating from a controlled field from the start of their training. Navigational aids at the New Bern airport are a VOR, NDB, and an ILS. Tradewind Aviation also operates the aircraft maintenance service at New Bern Airport and guarantees for first class maintenance and service not only to our own fleet but also to our customers' airplanes.
