ConnectedLearningSystems, Inc. (CLS) was founded and incorporated in 1999. Based in New Berlin, Wisconsin, the company provides consulting in customer-focused collections, organizational development and collection/service delivery training programs. The company's partners are Janice Mickelson, President, Charles Leahy, Vice President, and Sam Tornatore, Secretary. Ms. Mickelson and Dr. Leahy are responsible for the daily operation of the business. CLS conducts accounts receivable consulting and training across industries and to private corporations, education, healthcare and state governments. The consulting group can analyze work organization and methodologies, account segmentation, organizational climate, collector skill levels and training program effectiveness. Because of its work in different markets, CLS is able to import unique collection methods from one industry to another. In this way, the client gains the benefits, as example, of risk management strategies not commonly used in an educational environment. For each client, CLS provides the appropriate training, whether basic, foundation training, advanced negotiation or continuous learning programs. The company can deliver classroom, side-by-side, or computer-based training (CBT) to account representatives or to new and incumbent collection personnel. All training programs are customized to meet the client's cultural, philosophical and financial objectives. With multicultural experience from working in urban call centers in America and with companies in Africa, Asia, South America and Europe, CLS designs programs that explore social and cultural differences so that employee and client relationships can be developed.
