Info
National Nephrology Associates (NNA) is a physician-oriented dialysis company that owns and operates out-patient hemodialysis clinics for the treatment of end-stage renal disease (ESRD). The company is a fully-integrated provider of dialysis services, providing treatment in acute-care hospitals and in facilities that have been acquired or developed by NNA. NNA clinics also provide home training for qualified patients. NNA partners with physicians and hospitals to provide capital resources, industry expertise, an experienced management team and integrated, efficient information systems throughout its clinic system. The clinics are managed by NNA to allow physicians more time in their practice of medicine. NNA also offers complete access to patient records, information on best clinical practices, and assistance with financial and reimbursement issues as well as supply contracts. Each of the company's clinics is supervised by a qualified medical director and managed by an administrator who is typically a registered nurse. With a full range of nephrology services, clinic caregivers focus on the patients' needs and comforts. The network of NNA clinics is enriched and expanded through acquisition of independently-owned clinics and the establishment of management contracts for de novo clinics. When capacity dictates, NNA will develop satellite facilities to accommodate the expansion of existing clinics and practices. The number of ESRD patients requiring chronic dialysis in the United States continues to increase significantly, with more than 230,000 patients receiving treatment an average of three times per week. The opportunity to respond to this growth is enhanced when physicians are relieved of business office tasks associated with running a quality clinic. The founders of NNA recognize the challenges facing nephrologists in the areas of reimbursement, information technology, administrative support services and access to capital and offer a unique business arrangement where all partners have a common goal and focus: to improve the quality of life and care for those with renal disease.
