The Liberty Bank Foundation was established in 1997 as a means of providing continuous, reliable financial support to non-profit organizations throughout the area served by Liberty Bank. Since then, we have awarded almost $4 million in grants to charitable organizations throughout central, eastern, and shoreline Connecticut, for projects relating to community and economic development, education, health, human services, and the arts. Our mission is to fund programs that improve the quality of life for people or low or moderate income who reside within Liberty Bank's market area, especially families in crisis and at-risk youth. In 2005, Liberty Bank contributed an additional $3.3 million to the endowment of the Liberty Bank Foundation, with the result that the endowment now totals $11.5 million. This growth in our endowment will ensure that our foundation will be an ongoing source of support in the future for the non-profits that people in our communities depend on.
