Larry's AutoWorks was founded in February of 1972 on Huff Avenue in Mountain View as Larry's Bug Shop. At that time we were builders and wholesalers of air-cooled Volkswagen engines. Within a short time we began working on the VW vehicle, driven by requests from our satisfied engine customers. The need for more space required a move to larger building at 1931 Old Middlefield Way. This set the stage for our consistent growth over the years through the process of adapting to the needs and desires of our customers. In 1981 we opened a BMW, Volvo and Mercedes shop at the request of our regular customers who had purchased those vehicles and wanted us to continue to be their shop. The same thing resulted in our 1984 move into the Japanese and American vehicle markets. In every case Larry found specialists to work for him in servicing his clients needs and opened additional shops specializing in those vehicles. Several years ago Larry combined the operations under one roof to provide our clients with the best combination possible - our proven professional and personalized specialty vehicle service and the convenience of one location for their different vehicles. In September 2002 Larry's moved to a new and larger facility at 2526 Leghorn Street. This new location further improved the efficiency and accessibility of the services to our customers. In the 34 years that have passed since our beginnings, Larry's has added and changed many things in response to customers needs. What has not changed is our commitment to top quality work at a reasonable price.
