Info

Central Michigan Community Hospital (CMCH) is a 118-bed acute care hospital located in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. CMCH is a not-for-profit, locally-governed community hospital, offering a full range of health and wellness services from the Hospital campus and off-site locations. With its wide array of services and programs, CMCH is recognized as an accessible and dependable source for quality medical care for the residents of Isabella County and central Michigan. CMCH is licensed by the Michigan Department of Public Health and holds high marks of accreditation from the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). CMCH is also accredited by the American Academy of Blood Banks. Today, we have nearly 60 Active Medical Staff physicians. CMCH has over 150 courtesy, consulting, adjunct, and honorary and health professional affiliates. We continue to be one of the largest employers in the region with over 700 employees, and another 300 people fulfill volunteer roles. The facility has been updated many times, including: an all-new emergency room in 1998; Medical Arts Building in 2000; a new surgical suite (same day surgery, recovery, endoscopy and anesthesia) in 2000; Medical Arts Imaging Center in 2002 and a completely renovated 3 South surgical inpatient unit in 2003. In 2004, CMCH invested in Care Fusion, a bar code scanning system that offers instant bedside access to patient health information. This system also offers added safety when medications are administered to patients. We are the first hospital in central Michigan to use this innovative technology. In 2004, CMCH earned its highest patient satisfaction score in the eight years Arbor Associates, an independent research firm, has been conducting our patient surveys. In 2005, CMCH's new cancer center opened offering both radiation and chemotherapy treatment. This center is a partnership between CMCH and the University of Michigan's Health Systems Department of Radiation Oncology. CMCH also installed a new fixed MRI unit. In 2006, CMCH became a tobacco free campus. Tobacco use is now prohibited anywhere in the buildings or on the grounds owned or leased by CMCH. The hospital also opened the, Central Michigan Health Park. The medical park currently houses three medical office buildings. During 2006, CMCH partnered with Spectrum Health for Cardiac Care. The partnership allows CMCH to offer central Michigan residents access to top-notch cardiac care by board certified cardiologists twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. In 2007, the Morey Cancer Center received two five star awards from the American Cancer Society. The hospital also installed a digital mammography system to provide our patients with the best possible breast imaging and comfort, with lower X-ray dosage. During 2007, CMCH joined Partners for Children's Health, an affiliation with Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in an effort to improve the care of children and families throughout the region. Currently, CMCH has finished phase one of a two phase renovation of the Family Birthing Center. This new unit will feature larger delivery and recovery areas with private labor rooms, postpartum private and semi-private rooms and state of the art technology. It will truly be a beautiful place to have a baby!
