NWH offers a variety of health education and wellness programs designed to promote optimal wellness in the community including: childbirth and parenting classes, sibling tours, CPR, EMT classes, health screenings, diabetes support and senior citizen activities. These programs are offered at the Hospital and throughout the community, in the workplace, at schools, and senior centers. NWH is a not-for-profit community hospital governed by a voluntary Board of Trustees. A separate Foundation is charged with establishing endowments and raising funds in support of the Hospital. The Hospital also has a President's Council, an advisory board dedicated to enhancing communication between the Hospital and its community. Northern Westchester Hospital is a member of Stellaris Health Network. Stellaris Health Network serves as a vehicle for contracting with managed care organizations, developing state-of-the-art information systems and achieving operating efficiencies, which enable members to share resources in a way that will enhance their delivery of high quality healthcare services. Lawrence Hospital Center in Bronxville, Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleepy Hollow and White Plains Hospital Center in White Plains are also members of Stellaris Health Network. NWH is a member of the New York-Presbyterian Healthcare System and an affiliate of Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and Weill Medical College of Cornell University, which gives patients even broader access to a wide range of expertise, research and clinical trials while expanding the range of care available on-site for complex clinical problems.
