Bowman Apple Products Co. Inc
Info
Bowman Apple Products was organized as a family partnership in 1939 by Charles Bowman, his son Gordon D, Bowman, Sr., and other members of the Bowman family, and they began producing applesauce in Mt. Jackson, VA. In 1946, Gordon D. Bowman, Sr. bought out the partnership and a corporation was formed. In 1952, with the acquisition of a second facility in Maurertown, VA, the Company added fresh-pressed apple juice to their product line. The majority of the apples processed by Bowman Apple Products are grown in family owned and operated orchards in Virginia. However, in 1989, they acquired the Lyndonville Canning Company in Lyndonville, NY. This facility is now used as their base of operations for purchasing and storing NY apples as well as a distribution center for its customers in the Region. Under the leadership of Gordon D. Bowman, II, Bowman Apple Products Co., Inc. has become the largest U. S. producer of applesauce and apple butter for the private-label retail market. Bowman also produces fresh-pressed apple juice, juice from concentrate, juice beverages, organic juices, Gatorade, and in the immediate future, teas and water. An experienced Management Team brings a strong blend of Manufacturing, Sales, and Financial expertise to the Company, providing the leadership necessary to become a premier industry leader. Bowman Apple Products takes great pride in its history of success and market leadership.
