MOMbo is a 501(c)(3) organization with tax-exempt status granted by the Internal Revenue Service. This means that the generous support of individual contributors is tax-deductible. We are grateful also for the countless hours of support from volunteers and our Board of Directors, and the mentorship and creative input of our Board of Advisors. MOMbo's mission is: "to broadcast the everyday truth about motherhood (in order to save the world)." This mission statement is meant to be bold and idealistic. Mothers really are at the root of our world. By nurturing our offspring, we are continuing the species. MOMbo seeks to enliven the discussion of what motherhood is RIGHT NOW by looking at the history of motherhood in our world, by reporting on diverse projects, insights and lifestyles of moms in our country, and by offering a website and radio companion that brings the everyday stories of motherhood into the public ear. MOMbo seeks to support and enlighten moms of all ages and stages by giving us a place to hear ourselves. Think how often you hear business news on the radio. MOMbo seeks to get reports from "the MOM zone" onto the airwaves in the form of short interviews, reviews, commentaries and one hour specials. Our website, podcasts, cd set, and live events enrich a mother's experience of her everyday life. Nanci Olesen is MOMbo's Executive Director.
