Since its founding by James Goldstein in 1953, The Goldstein Partnership has been a leader in architectural design and building technology. Mr. Goldstein was chosen to design the first LEED-certified municipal building of any type in the State of New Jersey, the Maplewood Police & Court Building (LEED Silver). He is the author of numerous articles on design and construction, and of the professional reference book Timber Construction for Architects and Builders, published by McGraw-Hill. In his 30 years with the firm, he has designed or overseen scores of specialized projects for clients in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maryland, Illinois, Vermont, and Arizona. To benefit from his expertise in construction methodology, cost control, and risk management, he has been retained as an Expert by leading attorneys, on behalf of owners, design professionals, and contractors, to identify and address design and construction defects on troubled building projects designed by others. He speaks frequently about issues related to the standard of care at professional seminars for organizations such as CSI, Lorman, and WPL. Mr. GoldsteinÍs projects have been widely published nationally and internationally and have received many professional awards. He is licensed in multiple states and holds an NCARB certificate. Mr Goldstein holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from MIT. He serves on the Technical Committee advising the Rutgers Center for Green Building on the development of theæNew Jersey Green Building Manual.
