Maximized Software is headquartered in Mill Valley, California and was founded in 1994 by Ken Spreitzer. Prior to establishing Maximized Software, Ken achieved industry fame as author of the original UnInstaller, one of the best-selling utilities programs for PCs and spawning a new category of software. In 1995, Build-A-Card, the first free, fully customizeable, online greeting card program was released and made available to the public from www.buildacard.com. This popular program and site paved the way for the others that have since entered the Internet landscape. Millions of greeting cards were built and sent prior to the July 2000 sale of Build-A-Card and www.buildacard.com to Rare Medium.
