JGSC Group serves as advisors to Main Street New Jersey and the 26 designated Main Street communities throughout the state. In this capacity, we provide counsel on economic restructuring and, following the principals of our Community Insightsâ„¢ program, provide guidance and direction through the revitalization process. JGSC Group develops and teaches courses at the Downtown Revitalization & Management Institute at Thomas Edison College. Sponsored by the NJ Department of Community Affairs, Main Street New Jersey, and the NJ Office of Smart Growth, the Downtown Revitalization & Management Institute is a comprehensive community-based management approach to bringing vitality back to downtown communities. The courses we teach provide innovative approaches to attaining long-term economic solutions through market analysis, business recruitment, business retention, and destination marketing. JGSC Group is a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Nation Main Streets program. We have attended and participated in regional and national seminars and conferences. Our presentations at the 2008 National Main Street Conference in Philadelphia, Bringing Business Back to Main Street andReshaping the Retail Model for a More Dense, More Diverse Population, were rated among the most informational and useful presentations at the conference. In 2007, LISC (Local Initiative Support Corporation) designated JGSC Group a preferred consultant to work in conjunction with or on behalf of LISC's Commercial Markets Advisory Services (CMAS). The Commercial Markets Advisory Service (CMAS) is a national program which provides guidance and targeted technical assistance to LISC local offices around the country in support of their commercial corridor revitaliation and commercial/mixed-use development goals. JGSC Group/Community Insightsâ„¢ is designated by the New Jersey Office of Smart Growth as a Prequalified Consultant for Professional Services pertaining to Smart Future planning grants.
