Established in 1853, the San Francisco Archdiocese now encompasses the California Counties of San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin. We are a community of more than 400,000 Catholics residing in 90 parishes, stretching from the Marin-Sonoma County line in the north to the San Mateo-Santa Clara County line in the south.
