Info
Founded in 1946 by Mr. L. P. Best, CRAFTIQUE flourished and became recognized throughout the furniture industry as a leader in producing high quality, mahogany residential furniture. From day one, Mr. Best instilled an unprecedented pride in offering and producing the highest possible quality available in mahogany furniture. This pride is still evident today. After 43 years at the helm, Mr. Best sold the company he founded and nurtured to Pulaski Furniture, based in Pulaski, Virginia. A publicly traded company, Pulaski is a manufacturer of mid-priced bedroom, dining room, and accent furniture. Operating independently from Pulaski, the CRAFTIQUE product line was expanded to include more carving detail, a starting price point collection and their first licensing program with the Thomas Day Restoration Foundation. In the Fall of 1997, Pulaski made the corporate decision to focus exclusively on their core products of mid-priced merchandise and sold CRAFTIQUE to two industry veterans: John Erwin and Craig Shoemaker. Returning CRAFTIQUE back to private ownership, Erwin and Shoemaker (along with their wives Mary and Jane) are re-capturing the pride, craftsmanship and family-oriented environment so prevalent under L. P. Best. Continuing to promote the high quality mahogany position, the CRAFTIQUE of today also focuses on providing exceptionally short lead-times from production to the end consumer. Getting a quality product to the end consumer as quickly as possible is of paramount importance in today's lifestyle.
