McLean Children's Academy, founded in 1981 is known as McLean's "little secret." This academic preschool is well known by local grade school programs as a program that provides excellent preparation for Kindergarten. This school is one of the few in the area that offers a high quality educational preschool program together with a Fullday Program. Clifton Children's Academy, was founded 1998 and is the premiere Preschool in the Clifton, Centreville area. An educationally sound Preschool and Kindergarten at a spacious, eight acre country campus, maintains the same nurturing "home like" environment as its sister school. This school offers morning and afternoon Preschool Programs, with an Extended Day (3:30pm) for children age 2 years and 9 months through pre-kindergarten. A private Kindergarten Program - 8:35 - 1:00 or 3:30, is also available. An After-School Program for Preschool and Kindergarten extends the program hours until 5:30pm. Afternoon Preschool Classes are also available - 12:45 - 3:00pm. Registration for Preschool and Kindergarten classes takes place from late January through March of each year for the following September. You may "pre-enroll" your child by completing an application form, available on this website. We do offer a rolling enrollment, so please contact the school of your choice for current availability and to arrange a visit. Our schools offer both Preschool and Extended Day, offering academic programs while maintaining a homelike environment. Your child will feel as though he/she is going to a neighbor's house, which elimates the stress of going to a sterile, more institutional enviroment. The ambiance is particularly well suited to a child's first experience in school(ages 2.9 years through pre-kindergarten), offering morning, extended day and full day programs. In McLean we also offer after Kindergarten and After School programs. At our Clifton - Centreville Campus we offer a half day or fullday private Kindergarten. At both schools, our goal is to provide a well-rounded program with a wide variety of enriching experiences, in which the total child can develop in a happy atmosphere. Along with a basic skills curriculum, the program incorporates an innovative foreign language program, music programs and many opportunities to expand a child's multiple intelligences. The environment is well suited for children to grow physically, be stimulated mentally, and develop life long memories and friendships. We believe that each child is a unique individual with the need and right to develop his own strengths and interests, while being exposed to many new experiences which will be the base for all other learning. We especially believe that each child needs to build a strong self image which enables him/her to feel comfortable and confident socially, emotionally and physically, so that he/she will interact, to his/her fullest potential, with the environment during future years in school and throughout life.
