Description of Martinsburg Roundhouse Center
Martinsburg Roundhouse is a historic cast iron roundhouse located in Martinsburg, WV. The Martinsburg Roundhouse has under gone extensive renovation. The site includes 13 acres with three B&O railroad shop buildings. The shops were in operation until 1988. The roundhouse is one of the last reaming cast iron roundhouse left in the world. It was also the site of the First National Labor Strike of 1877 and was a key site early during the Civil War.
