Ulster Carpets
Building materials trade
Info
Ulster Carpets was founded by George Walter Wilson in Northern Ireland in 1938. The company is still privately owned by the founder's sons, Walter, John and Edward Wilson. The business was initially started to replace the declining linen mills and harnessed the renowned skills of the local textile employees in weaving carpets. Ulster Carpets has taken the positive attributes associated with being a family-owned establishment and combined them with a forward thinking, global approach to business. The result is a technologically advanced, service-driven company with flair, flexibility and a passion for quality. Every carpet designed and woven by Ulster Carpet Mills is tangible proof of the values we hold to be important in our business - values which have become a way of life within the company. This powerful blend of people skills, technical capabilities and creativity has helped to make Ulster Carpets a significant force in the international carpet market. Ulster Carpets now has five production facilities and numerous offices spread across the globe. Production facilities are located in South Africa, Northern Ireland, Australia, Denmark and Yorkshire, England. As a result of acquisitions, Ulster Carpets now own a large yarn spinning facility called Riverstone Spinning Ltd in Yorkshire, as well as Tascot Templeton Carpets Pty Ltd in Melbourne, Australia and Dan-Floor A/S in Denmark. Design studios are located in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Atlanta, Portadown, Kidderminster, London, Durban, Johannesburg, Sydney and Melbourne. Sales offices are located in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, Atlanta, Portadown, London, Paris and Durban, Sydney, Melbourne, Cape Town and Johannesburg.
