Info

Freeman's Fish Market is one of the best known retail-wholesale seafood providers in New Jersey. How did Freeman's get this way? First of all the company was started by Mr. Ed Freeman in 1989. Eddie was originally a stockbroker who decided to change his life and take on his passion: fish. Ed had always been intrigued by fish displays and had several contacts in the seafood industry. Eddie knew that with the need for a good seafood market in the area and his selling skills, he could have the best seafood market in New Jersey. Quickly, Freeman's Fish Market became a reality and became just that - a place for a wide variety of quality fresh seafood. Over the years, Freeman's reputation grew. The general population became aware that Freeman's could provide seafood with one-less step in the distribution process. That means that Freeman's fish would always be one step fresher than larger retail outlets such as a supermarket. People from all over started coming to Freeman's because of the freshness of the fish and because of Freeman's speciality items and ability to fill custom orders. Freeman's also became known for providing superior, traditional holiday fare. The company continued to grow under the guidance of Eddie and his store manager Marc Prochoren. Marc started working with Eddie when he was 14 years old and learned both the fresh seafood business and Eddie's extraordinary selling skills. Restaurants that wanted to offer the freshest of seafood began ordering from Freeman's and there began Freeman's wholesale business. Today, Freeman's supplies over 60 wholesale customers, including restaurants, country clubs, universities & caterers. (See Our Community, Our Restaurants & Our Caterers). Freeman's fish Market has been under new management since July, 2007. The new owner of Freeman's is Brad Lim, who originally a HR Manager who decided to change his life and take on his passion to fish which is very similar to the first owner, Ed Freeman. Now, Brad and Reggie (Store manager) who has worked freeman's for 15 years, and several qualified staffs such as Jayson, Daniel, Henry etc are trying to rebuild the store. The store's new menu evokes the feeling the market had when Eddie Freeman first opened it in 1989. Freeman's is committed to quality and variety, as seen in the selection of 32 types of fish, 20 kinds of shellfish and delicacies such as alligator meat. The store also supplies all the necessary supplies for an indoor clambake, including netted cooking bags ready for the grill or stovetop. The friendly staffs is willing to accommodate any special orders, including Kosher cutting. All fish is delivered daily from the world famous Fulton Fish Market Daily.
