Primera Biosystems is developing a gene expression analysis process referred to as Scalable Transcription Analysis Routine (STAR). STAR integrates a number of well-defined procedures in a proprietary and innovative manner that allows for significant technical advantages over existing gene analysis techniques as well as dramatic cost-savings on a per gene basis. STAR can rapidly identify at least 30 targets simultaneously from a single sample with levels of sensitivity, reproducibility, and accuracy equal to or better than today's standards for single target detection, thus far surpassing the performance of current multi-target detection diagnostic platforms.
