Info

eMation was founded in 1988 as PC Soft International in Tel Aviv, Israel. The company's first product was Wizcon, a software package for monitoring factory information using a PC. Over the next several years, the company opened headquarters in Europe and the United States and introduced additional PC-based software products for the industrial and building automation markets. In 1997, the company introduced the award-winning product Wizcon for Internet - the first web-enabled SCADA software. The following year, the company launched WizFactory , an integrated suite of industrial products for PC-based automation and control. That year PC Soft also merged with FactorySoft, a U.S.-based supplier of OLE for Process Control (OPC) software products and services for the industrial automation market. The company's international headquarters moved from Tel Aviv to Mansfield, Massachusetts.Throughout the years, more than 20,000 companies purchased PC Soft products to monitor and manage their plant equipment and processes. As it served this growing installed base, the company came to realize the Internet was the medium of the future for publishing the type of real-time information its clients required to keep their business running smoothly. Increasingly, eMation began focusing its research and development on providing Internet-based visualization for Embedded Internet Appliances. In 1999 the company launched Unity , a comprehensive solution for enabling PCs, operator panels, and Embedded Internet Appliances with easy- to-use, interactive visualization and web connectivity. While continuing to serve its existing clients in the industrial and building automation industry, the company began to expand its customer base to building automation, medical, telecommunications, utilities, office equipment, and home automation. In February 2000, PC Soft International changed its name to eMation to reflect its unified brands and strong focus on Internet-enabling the embedded computing market. Today, with R&D centers in Tel Aviv and Mansfield, and sales offices in The Netherlands, France and the United Kingdom, eMation is a growing multinational company that offers a wide range of innovative software and solutions. In May 2000, eMation closed a $25 million round of financing from an investor group led by Patricof & Co. Ventures, Inc. Other investors included Apax Partners Ventures (Israel), Ltd., Nomura, CSK Japan, Gemini Israel Fund, and Mofet Israel Technology Fund, Ltd.In June 2000, eMation completed the acquisition of Intuitive Technology Corporation, a premiere supplier of Internet technology for the manufacturing industry. This brought the Web@aGlance and @aGlance/IT products into the eMation portfolio as well as direct relationships with industrial market leaders such as Siemens, ABB, Elsag Bailey, Gensym, Intellution, Wonderware, GE, and Aspen Technology. With the addition of Intuitive, eMation cemented its market position as the leading provider of Internet technology to end users in industrial automation.Today, eMation is pioneering a revolutionary new category of e-business enterprise software.Known as a Device Relationship Management system, it enables the real-time exchange of information between remote devices and the people and systems that can profit from it.
